Washington based energy provider WGL Energy Services has released a free mobile energy management app for the company's customers in Pennsylvania’s PPL Electric Utilities territory. The app is available to customers who subscribe to WGL Energy’s residential electricity offerings. The mobile app provides instant access to electricity usage, allowing customers to track, manage and lower energy costs more effectively

The mobile app relies on data and information drawn from WGL Energy’s technology partner Innowatts through their predictive energy analytics platform Power EASE.

The Power EASE proprietary platform is one of the first in the energy sector to use predictive technology to provide customers with both historical trends and analysis, as well as forward looking information, notifications and alerts that can help them reduce usage and be more energy efficient.

The app comes loaded with individual energy usage data and is continuously updated with information received automatically from the account holder’s electricity meter.

The Innowatts app is being made available to Pennsylvania residents as part of a new offering that packages the energy management app with a competitive price offer. All of WGL Energy’s electricity offerings to residential customers are matched with 5 percent wind power.

“Innowatts is proud to partner with WGL Energy, an established energy company committed to combining competitive energy plans with new and innovative tools that help account holders become more energy efficient,” said Bob Champagne, Senior Vice President with Innowatts heading its Digital Utility Initiative. “Through our platform, WGL Energy customers will have access to powerful new insights about their energy use, presented in a way that is convenient and actionable.”

“WGL is excited to partner with Innowatts and continue our commitment to delivering innovative technology that improves the customer experience,” said Lou Hutchinson, Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer for WGL Holdings, Inc., the parent company to WGL Energy. “As the Energy Answers company, we’re motivated to deliver what customers are seeking from their provider – easy and effective tools to help them directly manage their energy use and improve the environment.”
