VVDN and Intel collaborate on 5G IoT Gateway

Indian original design manufacturer VVDN Technologies is collaborating with Intel to design a 5G IoT gateway solution. Based on the Fibocom FG100 module with an Intel XMM 8160 5G chipset, the new 5G IoT Gateway will operate on both sub-6GHz and mmWave spectrum. The 5G IoT Gateway is planned to be available starting in 2020.

Gurugram-based VVDN's engineering and R&D services team are joining together with Intel's 5G teams to work on developing this new 5G gateway.

As a part of the project, the companies have developed an LTE CAT 16 IoT gateway with Fibocom L860 module, based on Intel XMM 7560 4G chipset. This gateway provides 4G LTE Cat 16 Internet connectivity via an 802.11n/ac dual Wi-Fi network. VVDN said in a statement that this gateway provides Internet access speeds up to 10 times faster than current solutions.
