Via and FogHorn partner to enable edge intelligence

Taiwan-based Via Technologies has partnered with FogHorn, a Californian developer of software for industrial and commercial IoT, to enable edge intelligence in Via Edge AI systems.
FogHorn’s Lightning product portfolio brings a dimension to industrial IoT and edge computing by embedding edge intelligence directly into small-footprint IoT devices as close to the source of streaming data as possible. It provides compact and feature-rich edge intelligence that delivers low latency for onsite data processing, real-time analytics, ML and AI capabilities.
“The integration of FogHorn’s industry-leading edge intelligence into Via Edge AI systems will enable our customers to accelerate the deployment of edge-to-cloud solutions for a myriad of industrial, transportation and smart city applications,” said Richard Brown, Via’s vice-president of international marketing. “The combination will open up a plethora of opportunities for them to reduce costs, increase efficiencies, and optimise business outcomes.”
Via’s Edge AI systems include ruggedised small footprint Amos and Artigo systems powered by the NXP i.MX 6DualLite Arm Cortex-A9 SoC and Qualcomm Snapdragon 820E embedded platform. Available in various configurations, the systems combine compute and video performance with IO and connectivity features. Low power consumption, fanless operation, wide temperature and voltage ranges, and customisation options make them suitable for industrial IoT and edge AI deployments in demanding environments.
