Telenor Connexion and Chinese CIMC MIoT have agreed to work closely together digitalising CIMC’s logistics and tracking services. Under a global agreement, Telenor Connexion will provide CIMC with a connected business service, including global coverage and multi-operator set up optimising network access for CIMC’s global connected portfolio.

CIMC MIoT, part of China International Marine Containers Group, is a supplier of logistics and energy equipment.

“Telenor Connexion is one of the most experienced global providers of connected business solutions and has extensive experience of global deployments for large corporations,” said Shouqin Zhou, CEO at CIMC MIoT. “We are very pleased to leverage their knowledge and expertise to digitalise our business. Their involvement, in combination with our state-of-the-art solutions, will enable CIMC to provide our customers with high-quality logistics and tracking services from day one.”

The two corporations will work closely together digitalising and developing services throughout the CIMC group of companies to ensure that CIMC maintains its market position.

“From the very beginning, we felt the same passion and strive within CIMC as within our company, hence it is a true privilege to work with this esteemed company,” said Mikael Lindholm, head of Asia-Pacific for Swedish company Telenor Connexion. “I am convinced we will jointly continue to develop industry leading solutions making sure CIMC remains ahead of competition.”

With over 40 per cent market share in the international container business and 56 per cent market share in the dry marine container market, CIMC claims to have been the biggest container-manufacturing company in the world since 1996.

“We are very excited about this relationship and the future opportunities it presents,” said Mats Lundquist, CEO of Telenor Connexion. “CIMC is the largest container manufacturing company in the world and we are proud to be associated with this brand and to have the opportunity to deliver our solution to this prominent company.”

Headquartered in Shenzhen in China, CIMC supplies equipment and services, including containers, vehicles, energy, chemical and food equipment, offshore equipment, logistics services, and airport facilities.
