Taoglas launches 5G-ready antenna at MWC

At last week’s Mobile World Congress in Shanghai, Taoglas introduced the Warrior PA740 antenna with additional LTE bandwidth and bands added for 5G functionality.
The Irish provider of IoT antenna and RF products said the antenna was an evolved design from its Warrior PA710 ceramic wideband LTE antenna with optimal antenna efficiency and performance for IoT devices including smart home devices, mobile devices and vehicle integration.
High-performance, reliable LTE and 5G antenna technology is crucial for the future of the IoT, mobility and overall customer experience. The ability to have precise high-speed connectivity, low latency, reliable data transfer and computing in real time depends on antenna reliability.

Designed to use the same dimensions and footprint layout as the PA710, the PA740 lets users drop in the new part without the need to modify their printed circuit board design. It covers existing LTE bands and includes the 3.5 and 4.8GHz NR new radio bands for China. Multiple carriers use the new 5G NR C-band spectrum including China Telecom, China Mobile and China Unicom.
With nine design, support and test centres in Ireland, Germany, Taiwan, mainland China and the USA, in-house manufacturing in Taiwan and the USA, and a dynamic online ordering system, Taoglas says it helps its customers find the best antenna for their device hardware. It provides products across various wireless and IoT technologies, from LTE, wifi, GNSS, DSRC, NFC, LoRa, LPWA, NB-IoT, Cat-M and beyond to 5G for use cases in IoT, automotive, utilities, smart cities, healthcare, telematics, smart metering and more.
