SkyBitz and TMW Systems have integrated their logistics offerings so that customers of both companies will be able to monitor and track trailers centrally in TMW’s TruckMate to gain real-time operations information, location and cargo status.

Virginia-based SkyBitz provides remote asset tracking and information management systems and Ohio-based TMW Systems provides transportation management and asset maintenance systems.

“SkyBitz has been a strategic partner for years, offering our shared customers innovative solutions for increased fleet visibility and actionable information,” said Ray West, SVP and general manager at TMW Systems. “With the recent additions to the SkyBitz integration with TruckMate, customers gain the fleet visibility they need to quickly find available trailers to assign with the next load and can turn their trailers faster.”

The integration uses asset management services from SkyBitz delivering trailer specific information directly to TruckMate, driving faster, better-informed decisions and improved asset use. Moreover, the integration will help fleets reclaim unused capacity in the fleet, thereby reducing capital expenses and operational costs.

This is the latest step in SkyBitz’s overall integration efforts with TMW Systems, adding to its existing software integrations with that company’s TMW Suite and Innovative TMS applications and its fleet maintenance management system, TMT Fleet Maintenance-SQL.

The latest integration allows fleet operators to view accurate trailer and cargo status to determine quickly if the trailer is loaded or empty, hooked or unhooked, in-motion or stationary. Also, at-a-glance, they will know the trailer’s power status and mileage. Operators can also search for and identify the nearest idle trailers to an accurate location, and perform yard checks.

“The key to a successful relationship is providing solutions that help solve joint customers’ needs,” said Henry Popplewell, senior vice president at SkyBitz. “TMW Systems shares our vision and it is why year after year we’ve deepened our cooperation and integrations. The ability to quickly find accurate trailer information not only greatly improves our customers’ efficiency but also helps them to improve satisfaction with their drivers and customers.”

The integrated trailer tracking and monitoring capability is now available with the most recent version of TruckMate.

Founded in 1983, TMW is focused on providing enterprise software to the transportation industry, including asset-based and non-asset-based operations as well as heavy-duty vehicle service centres. With offices in Cleveland, Dallas, Indianapolis, Nashville, Oklahoma, Raleigh and Vancouver, the company serves more than 2000 customers. TMW is part of Trimble’s international transportation and logistics division.

SkyBitz, a wholly owned subsidiary of Telular, provides real-time information on the location and status of assets. More than 800 enterprises rely on its technology to achieve total asset visibility, improved security, lower operating and capital expenses, and better customer service.
