SkyBitz updates trailer tracking for Schneider
May 22, 2018
Wisconsin-based transportation and logistics company Schneider has teamed up with SkyBitz to implement its third generation trailer and container tracking system.
SkyBitz is a Virginia-based provider of best-fit vehicle and asset tracking systems that give companies visibility into their fleets and cargo, without increasing overhead.
“Schneider is committed to providing a differentiated driver experience and eliminating job irritants,” said Shaleen Devgun, executive vice president at Schneider. “This technology enables drivers to efficiently locate an available empty trailer or container with pinpoint accuracy using their mobile devices which saves a significant amount of time.”
Schneider has used the SkyBitz Falcon GXT5002C, a solar-powered, GPS-based asset management device that improves asset use and cargo visibility. The Falcon provides reporting on several critical data points, including arrival and departure times, inner yard movements, idle durations and cargo loaded or unloaded events in near real time.
“Schneider wanted high-quality trailer and container tracking that could be implemented quickly and efficiently,” said Henry Popplewell, president of SkyBitz. “SkyBitz designs its trailer, container and asset tracking for reliability, simple installation and an overall lower cost of ownership. These tools give shippers more ways to ensure they’re delivering the highest quality service to every customer.”
Through this working relationship, SkyBitz and Schneider hope to bring greater asset visibility and operational efficiency to drivers and customers across North America. Dispatchers, drivers and customer service associates should be able to make more timely, data-driven business decisions from a variety of desktop and mobile devices.
“Our multi-vendor telematics strategy enables us to bring the best available functionality to our drivers,” said Devgun. “SkyBitz won the day with its latest technology.”
SkyBitz is Telular’s flagship brand for IoT telematics across multiple vertical industry sectors, providing real-time information on the location and status of assets. More than a thousand enterprises use its technology to achieve total asset visibility, improved security, lower operating and capital expenses, and enhanced customer service.
Schneider is a provider of transportation and logistics services, including regional and long-haul truckload, expedited, dedicated, bulk, intermodal, final kilometre, less than load, brokerage, warehousing, supply chain management, and port logistics.
