Leminar Air Conditioning, a leading HVAC distribution company in the Middle East, has inaugurated its Central Logistics Centre at Ras Al Khor industrial area in Dubai. The 15,600 square metre warehouse is controlled by an Oracle-based warehouse management system.
The recently expanded warehouse has a capacity of 7531 pallet slots. The facility is one of the largest of its kind in the country for the HVAC market and can accommodate a stock inventory worth up to AED100mn. The warehouse management system allows Leminar to plan, track and monitor deliveries in an efficient manner. The WMS currently helps in prioritising deliveries, improves labour productivity and increases space utilisation.
“The second phase of the technology upgrade is planned, which will add several more intelligent features like ageing stock identification, quantity recommendations for fast moving products and paperless picking,” said Jason Matos, corporate manager of logistics at Leminar Air Conditioning. “We are increasingly investing in latest technologies to streamline our operations and ensure speedy distribution.”
Pramodh Idicheria, general manager of Leminar Air Conditioning, added: “The market is evolving quickly and companies that do not plan their strategy ahead are going to be irrelevant. By expanding our storage facility and distribution channels, and through new partnerships and acquisitions, we are confident of establishing a stronger presence over the regional HVAC industry.”
In addition to the Central Logistics Centre in Ras Al Khor, Leminar has a 2700 square metre facility in Mussafah in Abu Dhabi and five showrooms spread across the UAE.
The inauguration was attended by HE Hisham Al Shirawi, vice-chairman of Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry and member of the board of directors of Al Shirawi Group, and Navin Valrani, CEO of Leminar Air Conditioning.
Established in Dubai in 1991, Leminar Air Conditioning, a member of the Al Shirawi group of companies, claims to be the largest HVAC distribution company in the region, with offices in UAE, Qatar, Oman and Kuwait. The company represents some of the leading brands in the HVAC industry such as Rheem, S&P, Weicco, Alfa Laval, Hattersley, Frese, Mueller, Twin City, Napco, Armacell and Kimmco.
