MacroPoint gives Logistics Dynamics real-time load visibility
May 17, 2016
Logistics provider Logistic Dynamics has signed a long-term agreement with MacroPoint, creator of freight tracking software to give shippers, brokers, third-party logistics providers and carriers real-time visibility into load status.
MacroPoint will be enabled across the entire network of more than 55,000 motor carriers.
Headquartered in Buffalo, New York, Logistic Dynamics will be able to provide shippers with real-time location tracking, delivery monitoring and event notifications, and enhance the efficiency of its operations with the integration of MacroPoint into its LDi Freight transportation management system (TMS).
"MacroPoint is the perfect fit for Logistic Dynamics' TMS, LDi Freight, heavily utilised by our business partners," said Evan Gaskill, vice president of operations at Logistic Dynamics. "By enabling Macropoint with LDi Freight, our shippers, business partners and carriers have the ability to capture tracking data, update maps and access load histories in a single portal with seamless functionality on any device, including desktop, laptop and tablet computers and smartphones."
MacroPoint load tracking software provides arrival and departure notification and out-of-route monitoring by tracking the location of a driver's mobile phone or existing in-cab electronic logging device (ELD) and GPS devices.
"The cost effective MacroPoint load tracking solution will enhance the service Logistic Dynamics provides to its customers," said Dave Halsema, executive vice president of MacroPoint. "We are pleased they have entered into a long-term agreement to enable tracking and to provide shippers with real-time location monitoring."
Logistic Dynamics provides full truckload, less than truckload, rail, air and ocean services to a broad range of customers throughout North America using its network of agents and carrier partners.
Headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, MacroPoint designs freight monitoring and tracking systems for shippers, brokers and 3PLs. Founded in 2011, its automated load monitoring and tracking software provides load location visibility to third parties.
The pay-per-use system works on any mobile phone, not just smart phones, and with existing in-cab ELD and GPS tracking devices to provide real-time location monitoring and tracking, delivery monitoring, and event notifications to third parties.
Integrated with a range of TMS, MacroPoint automates the entire process, eliminating the need for drivers to check in with dispatchers, and for shippers and brokers to check in with carriers. To date, more than 500,000 driver mobile phones have been setup by thousands of brokers, shippers and trucking companies using MacroPoint to track their freight, and millions of trucks are MacroPoint enabled via their in-cab ELDs.
