Car maker Fiat Chrysler has named telematics connectivity company Laird as Supplier of the Year for Logistics. The award was made at the FCA Asia Pacific Supplier Town Hall & Awards Ceremony in Shanghai, China.

Laird was singled out for the “proactive, cooperative and responsive” partnership it has developed with the automobile manufacturer.

“This award is a true honour and showcases Laird as a supply partner our customers can rely on to provide the right product at the right time,” said Laird’s senior vice president of telematics, Steve Brown, who attended the ceremony.

In October 2014, Laird opened a telematics design and manufacturing centre in Shanghai to serve its customers in the global automotive market. The plant increases production capacity and efficiency while improving quality control.

This ensures, hopes Laird, that it continues to offer the most innovative and competitive telematics products to the world’s automotive manufacturers and fleet management companies with reliable fulfilment and speed.

Laird is a global technology company focused on providing systems and components that protect electronics from electromagnetic interference and heat, and that enable connectivity in mission critical systems through wireless applications and antenna systems.

Products are supplied to all sectors of the electronics industry including the smartphone, telecoms, data transfer, information technology, automotive, aerospace, defence, consumer, medical, mining, railroad and industrial markets.

Laird has more than 9000 employees in more than 50 facilities in 19 countries.
