Hewlett Packard Enterprise is collaborating with Texas-based SparkCognition to provide AI-based predictive maintenance on HPE Edgeline converged edge systems.

SparkCognition will optimise its industrial AI platform to increase performance at the edge when running on HPE Edgeline systems. The announcement was made at last week’s Time Machine AI and future tech conference in Austin, Texas.

"For a large number of critical military and industrial use cases, systems that rely solely on the cloud are simply not viable," said Amir Husain, founder and CEO of SparkCognition. “In denied environments or situations where disconnected operations and low latency decisions are critical, AI at the edge is the only path forward. SparkCognition is partnering with Hewlett Packard Enterprise to bring real-time edge intelligence and the world's most advanced AI-based predictive analytics to HPE's Edgeline."

Through the collaboration, SparkCognition will make use of underlying Edgeline capabilities to tune the performance of its AI-based analytics product, SparkPredict, bringing fast predictive analytics closer to customer problems. SparkPredict applies patented machine learning technology and differentiated explainable AI to enhance the operational and maintenance effectiveness of customer assets.

"In the current digital enterprise landscape, an abundance of data is collected at the edge," said Tom Bradicich, vice president at HPE. "By implementing predictive analytics right at the edge on our innovative Edgeline converged edge systems, we empower customers to take full advantage of those data and make critical decisions fast, even in situations where they have slow, unreliable or non-existent connectivity."

SparkPredict's AI-powered predictive analytics on HPE Edgeline converged edge systems will be showcased at HPE Discover from November 27 to 29 in Madrid.

With machine learning technology, a multinational footprint and teams focused on defence, industrial IoT and finance, SparkCognition builds artificial intelligence systems. Its customers turn to SparkCognition to help them analyse complex data, empower decision-making, and transform human and industrial productivity.
