M2M player Device Cloud Networks (DCN) is partnering with Oberthur Technologies (OT) to support the remote-monitoring services it provides to OEMs and enterprise customers.

DCN (Rockville, MD, USA) will introduce OT’s (Paris, France) M-Connect service into its offering, allowing it to securely manage device connections on its M2M network.

Once integrated with its M2M service, M-Connect will help DCN to support customers including carmakers and smart meter manufacturers, which use DCN’s services to help them manage their manufacturing and distribution processes.

DCN says it will commercialize the offering this year, introducing services in North America and Europe.

“We are really pleased to support DCN in their effort to provide a turnkey solution to connect smart devices to mobile networks that will streamline the worldwide manufacturing and distribution process of OEMs while helping mobile operators better answer their specific connectivity requirements, accelerate time-to-market and get a wider coverage footprint in the M2M ecosystem,” said Marek Juda, managing director of OT’s solutions business.

According to DCN, M-Connect will allow it to provide M2M services that cover device and connectivity management as well as application enablement.

“DCN’s M2M solution is coupled with our rapidly growing global operator alliance to accelerate time to market and achieve a wider footprint of coverage,” said Dave Williams, DCN’s chief executive. OT’s M-Connect solution will be a critical part of our offer to build the bridge between our mobile operator partners and OEM customers.”

News of the deal comes only days after OT announced a tie-up with Finland’s in1SIM targeting customers in the energy distribution companies based in Northern Europe.

OT said the combination of its technology with that of in1SIM would answer a need for a “global and reliable” solution for connecting smart objects to mobile networks.
