Systems integrator Logic PD says it has joined Telefonica’s M2M global partner program, which the operator has set up to spur the development of M2M services.

The partnership will give customers global wireless coverage for IoT solutions, according to Logic PD (Minneapolis, MN, USA), as well as the ability to bring connected products to market much more quickly than was previously possible.

“With this partnership Logic PD will be able to support product manufacturers’ IoT solutions as they deploy throughout the world and meet their customers’ telecoms requirements,” said Bruce DeWitt, the president and chief executive officer at Logic PD.

“Collaborating in the development of IoT solutions means faster access to the emerging markets in central and southern America,” he added.

Logic PD said it would focus on developing solutions that address user needs and business requirements for return on investment, while taking advantage of the best technology when providing subscription services to its customers.

This means, for instance, that Logic PD will be able to help customers deploy products across Telefonica’s network, including in Latin America.

Logic PD will also collaborate with Telefonica (Madrid, Spain) on providing international coverage for devices.

The company said its system integration and product development expertise in IoT would ensure that Telefonica is able to deploy its M2M network for US companies.

“We live in a connected world now more than ever and customers are looking for IoT solutions,” said Peter Wilson, general manager of B2B and IoT indirect sales for Telefonica USA.

“This alliance allows Telefonica to increase its M2M presence in the world’s largest growth markets through Logic PD’s leading IoT offerings and expertise,” he added.
