Denmark’s Globe Tracker International has formed a strategic alliance with remote monitoring company Refrigerated Transport Electronics (RTE) to develop a tracking and monitoring service for refrigerated containers set for intermodal transportation worldwide.
The joint solution will alert cold chain stakeholders in “near real time” of temperature and operational cargo conditions throughout the entire shipping cycle.
Data is to be presented using Globe Tracker’s SAAN-branded web interface platform.
“We are pleased to be working with Globe Tracker International [Copenhagen, Denmark] to develop solutions for the transportation industry,” said Donald Vinson, the president of RTE (McGraw, NY, USA). “Combined with RTE’s family of innovative GRASP remote reefer monitoring systems, this new technology enhances the complete visibility throughout the cold chain.”
Globe Tracker says the combination of its technology with that of RTE will give customers “over-the-air, two-way management of reefers” and an “unmatched” ability to continuously track high value assets globally.
