Airbiquity expands European connected car presence with NAVX tie-up

Connected car player Airbiquity has formed a partnership with Europe’s NAVX, which provides information on fuel stations and parking, as it looks to expand its presence in the European market.

The company says the integration of the NAVX (Levallois-Perret, France) fuel finder application with its own platform will give drivers details of fuel station location and pricing data in real time, as well as one-touch navigation features and a means of assessing fuel stations on the basis of distance, price and brand.

The service works by directing drivers to their desired location after a selection is made, at which stage NAVX automatically activates the vehicle on-board navigation system.

Airbiquity (Seattle, WA, USA) says the partnership was formed in response to growing demand for locally relevant in-vehicle services and the continued “regionalization” of its smartphone app and cloud content portfolio.

“NAVX is the de facto regional source for fuel price information,” said David Jumpa, Airbiquity’s chief revenue officer.

Airbiquity’s Choreo connected car platform is designed to provide a range of connectivity services to customers in 50 countries and some 30 languages, says the company.
