Norwegian M2M operator Telenor Connexion has joined forces with M2M platform provider ThingWorx to help companies take advantage of emerging M2M opportunities.

The companies claim to offer complementary technology platforms and say their partnership will speed up the introduction of new connected business solutions and services.

They also say they share a common vision for how connectivity can transform a company’s value proposition by enhancing the whole solution deployment lifecycle – from design to operation to service.

They have already kicked off a number of joint activities in development, marketing and sales aimed at meeting the fast-growing demand for M2M services.

Telenor (Stockholm, Sweden) brings its Cloud Connect platform to the partnership, as well as a network of partners supporting the deployment of sensors and the capture and communication of data to the cloud.

Meanwhile, ThingWorx (Exton, PA, USA) offers a platform for developing and deploying applications that can help organizations to reduce cost and risk.

“Telenor Connexion prides itself on having the key building blocks to decrease time to market, and we work with the best partners for customer specific development,” said Per Simonsen, the chief executive of Telenor Connexion. “By working with ThingWorx, we are leveraging the ThingWorx industry-leading application development platform to drive innovation and meet the broad market opportunity before us.”

ThingWorx says most companies looking to deploy smart and connected solutions face an array of “disparate and disconnected” technology choices.

“We’re pleased to be working with Telenor to help integrate a complete, end-to-end solution that provides an easy entry point for companies that want to realize the full value potential of adding connectivity to their product and service offerings,” said Russ Fadel, the president and general manager of ThingWorx.
