Kore Wireless and Robustel Technologies have formed a partnership aimed at developing a new range of industrial M2M solutions.

Robustel (Guangzhou, China), which provides cellular and Wi-Fi gateways for M2M services, says the partnership with Kore (Alpharetta, GA, USA) – an MVNO – will allow it to include optional device connectivity for a range of products.

The companies plan to unveil an M2M Starter Kit combining their products later this month.

That kit is intended to offer customers “everything … they need to connect, develop, deploy and use M2M applications within Asia-Pacific”.

It will include Robustel’s GoRuged R3000 Industrial 3G Cellular VPN Router, a web-based portal allowing users to monitor, configure and manage their devices, a Kore SIM card including 30MB of data and Kore’s M2M business management platform, which supports remote provisioning, management and monitoring.

Shane Murphy, the vice president and general manager of Kore Wireless Asia Pacific, said he hoped the kit would reduce the usual time to market associated with developing an M2M solution from the ground up.

“The Robustel starter kit is like a one stop shop for customers – it provides the ability to immediately develop, connect and deploy devices within Asia Pacific,” he said.

According to Chen Xiaojun, the products have been designed to deliver robust, reliable and secure solutions for a range of target markets.

“The Starter Kit incorporates Robustel’s state-of-the-art mobile connectivity, cellular network support, dual SIM capacity and the ability to allow users to monitor, configure and manage large numbers of remote devices on private networks via the web,” said Xiaojun.

“We are constantly adapting to changes in the market and want to be able to provide to all customers in the M2M industry,” he added. “Whether it’s across energy and utilities, security, building or industrial automation, retail, healthcare or transportation, Robustel has products to suit any customer’s requirements.”
