Capgemini, Siemens develop Building Energy IoT platform

French consulting and outsourcing specialist Capgemini is working with Germany's Siemens Building Technologies Division to implement a cloud based services platform featuring asset management and analytics technology.

Siemens's web-based Energy & Sustainability Navigator platform will serve as the stepping off point for a new IoT Building Energy cloud based platform Siemens will develop with Capgemini.

At present, Siemens' customers save an estimated 10.5 million tons of CO2 per year using the Energy & Sustainability Navigator platform. Recognition of the achievements of the current platform include the award of the European Energy Service Reward 2015 for implementing an energy saving project in Sosnowiec, Poland, using the Siemens Navigator

Capgemini Consulting, the global strategy and transformation unit of Capgemini, and the Siemens Building Technologies Division together developed the service and implementation strategy for the IoT management platform to connect the smart buildings and asset portfolios of large and global customers of Siemens Building Technologies.

Based on Siemens Navigator function set for monitoring and analysis, Capgemini’s IoT, data analytics, and cloud developers will work with teams from Siemens Building Technologies, to extend this digital transformation project in a phased approach.

The collaboration is designed to enable Siemens Building Technologies to expand its position by offering energy sustainability services specifically, and data driven services in general to building operators, campus owners and corporate real estate customers. The joint teams aim to continuously extend Navigator’s functionality.
